Our 5-Stage Restoration Process
Quick-fix headlight wipes and toothpaste tricks last a few weeks because they don't address the real problem: the factory UV coating has failed. Our process fixes it properly. We work through progressive dry and wet sanding (400 through 3000 grit, finishing with 3M Trizact discs) to remove the failed coating and oxidation, polish the lens back to optical clarity, then seal it with a UV-resistant ceramic coating. For maximum longevity, choose our permanent 2K clear coat — the same technology used on your car's paint — rated for 5+ years of clarity.

Why Chicago Headlights Fail Fast
Lens oxidation is UV damage plus abrasion — and Chicago supplies both. Summer sun bakes the factory coating; winter road salt, sand, and highway grit sandblast it. If your car sleeps outside, expect fogging to start around year six. Once it starts, it accelerates: the cloudier the lens, the more surface area for UV to attack.

Dealers quote $400–$1,200+ per pair for new OEM headlight assemblies — and aftermarket replacements often fit poorly and fog even faster. Restoration returns your original, factory-fit lenses to like-new clarity from $120. Unless the housing is cracked or the internal reflector is damaged, restoration wins on price, fit, and speed. How long does headlight restoration take?
About an hour for most vehicles — done in your driveway or office lot.
How long do results last?
Our standard ceramic coating protects for roughly 9 months to 1.5 years depending on sun exposure and parking; the permanent 2K clear coat option is rated for 5+ years. Both dramatically outlast polish-only fixes.
What results can I expect?
Exterior fog and oxidation — what the vast majority of cloudy headlights have — is skillfully removed with our 5-stage process for the best possible results, and most lenses come back crystal clear. What we can't polish away is fog on the inside of the lens (internal condensation) or physical lens damage — if that's what you have, we'll tell you before you spend a dollar, not after.
Do you restore taillights too?
No — and here's the honest reason: taillights almost never fog the way headlights do, so it's a service you almost certainly don't need. In years of doing this we've restored exactly one set. If yours genuinely look hazy, send a photo and we'll tell you what's actually going on.
Will it pass a vehicle inspection?
Restored lenses return to near-factory light output — the difference on a dark road is immediate and obvious.
